Hello! My name is Nick and I’m from California. Currently, I’m teaching English in Madrid and writing in my spare time.
This blog started out as a place for me to share funny travel stories, but now I write about whatever I think will be interesting – sometimes it’s funny, sometimes it’s a bit more serious, but always the goal is to be entertaining.
My most popular funny post is this one about buying the morning after pill in Vietnam:
My most popular serious post is this one:
I’ve also written a few posts for TFM:
For those who are curious about the website name, it comes from “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” by Douglas Adams. In it he describes the earth as “…an utterly insignificant little blue-green planet” that had a problem – “…most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movement of small green pieces of paper, which was odd because on the whole it wasn’t the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy.”
That always struck a chord with me.
Special thanks to my friend Chris for helping me put together the site and my sister Allie for editing my stories.
